Regions Party may nominate Širvintos mayor for president in 2024

Živilė Pinskuvienė, a member of the Lithuanian Regions Party (LRP), was re-elected as the mayor of Širvintos district on 5 March. Her husband Jonas Pinskus, the leader of the party, does not rule out that she may be nominated for the 2024 Lithuanian presidential election.

“As a party we will have to put forward candidates in presidential, European Parliament and Seimas elections. As it is known, there will be three elections next year. We will try to participate in all three of them. After the latest election, we will have many experienced people. I think the results will be much better,” said Pinskus, adding that the party’s conference would decide whether Pinskuvienė should be nominated as a presidential candidate.
