Presidential adviser: questions to Landsbergis valid

Asta Skaisgirytė, chief adviser on foreign affairs to President Gitanas Nausėda, says that the interpellation questions addressed to Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis are valid. An agreement on foreign policy guidelines among parliamentary parties settled a year ago would have helped to prevent such an initiative from the opposition today, the presidential adviser noted.

“Questions are really valid. They arise and the opposition has the right to ask them the minister of the ruling coalition. If we spoke about the very essence of the question and not about personalities, I would rather say that if an agreement on foreign policy was reached among parties a year ago, which was greatly supported by the president, this interpellation would not be necessary as the minister would be simply keeping to the agreement along with the ruling majority,” Skaisgirytė told Žinių radijas on Tuesday.
