Neringa leads in terms of COVID-19 vaccinations

Lithuania's western city of Neringa leads in terms of the number of people vaccinated against COVID-19 as 53 percent of local residents have so far received at least one vaccine doze, according to the latest figures from the country's statistics service, Statistics Lithuania.

Meanwhile, Alytus and Kaunas are leading among the country's major cities, with around 30 percent of the vaccinated population.

Birstonas (42 percent) is the second after Neringa among Lithuanian municipalities with the largest share of people with at least one doze of a coronavirus vaccine, followed by Alytus District (33 percent).

Salcininkai and Visaginas are at the bottom of the list with 15.6 and 16.6 percent respectively.

All the remaining municipalities have vaccinated at least a fifth of their residents.

Among major cities, Alytus leads with 30.1 percent, followed by Kaunas (30 percent), Vilnius (27.2 percent), Panevezys (27.1 percent), Siauliai (23.5 percent) and Klaipeda (21.4 percent.

So far, some 739,600 people in Lithuania have received at least one vaccine doze, and 368,000 people are fully vaccinated with two dozes.
