Nausėda says sexual abuse scandal will damage Seimas’ image

President Gitanas Nausėda believes that a pre-trial investigation into the sexual abuse of a minor, which involves MP Kristijonas Bartoševičius, is a terrible blow to Lithuania’s political system, the image of the parliament and the Conservative party (TS-LKD).

In an interview to the public broadcaster LRT on Monday night, the president said that three decades ago he would not have guessed that he “would witness a paedophilia scandal at the Seimas”.
