“German soldiers had already visited Lithuania and looked around. In the autumn, there will be the forward presence brigade command element. (&) It will be stationed in Rukla,” Minister Anušauskas told the public radio LRT on Tuesday.

The minister stated that Lithuania is fully prepared for hosting its own and allied forces.

As reported, the decision to increase battalion-sized NATO eFP Battle Groups to the size of brigades on NATO’s eastern flank was adopted this June, following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
