MP says president is fearmongering about cannabis decriminalisation

President Gitanas Nausėda last week stated that he does not support the bill on cannabis decriminalisation because Lithuania “is losing the fight with drug use and proliferation”. Reacting to such statements, Freedom Party’s MP Vytautas Mitalas says there should not be fearmongering about decriminalisation of cannabis and arguments should be used instead.

Mitalas, deputy chair of the Freedom Party, says the president is stoking fears of the public, whereas Lithuania should review its drug use prevention policies.
