Military analysts see drop in flow of anti-Lithuania hostile information

The flow of propaganda and hostile information has been going down since September, the army said on Friday, as some 327 unique cases of hostile information activity were recorded last month, down from 335 such cases in November.

"Amid the ongoing war in Ukraine, Negative information was disseminated in the contexts of NATO, Lithuanian-Ukrainian relations, NATO and Lithuania's military support to Ukraine, as well as the training of Ukrainian troops. Lithuania's defense and security policy was the focus of the Kremlin's hostile propaganda in December due to the strengthening of our country's military capabilities, the acquisition of weapons and equipment, such as HIMARS, Switchblade 600, Caesar Mark II and others," the army said.

There were also reports and the end of the war in Ukraine would lead to a war with Russia in the Baltic states and Poland, the army said.

Hostile media also put more focus on NATO-Russia confrontation in December, and Lithuania-Russia relations also received a relatively high profile.

Analysts also point out that Russian propaganda channels continued to use the cliché of an "aggressive NATO" allegedly aimed against Russia.

Speaking of Lithuania-Russia relations, a negative image of Lithuania as a Russophobic, aggressive and provocative state was further being created in December, mostly aimed at domestic Russian and Belarusian audiences.
