"Yesterday we contacted Raman's family. I can only say that their concern is justified and, without disclosing personal details, that [information] circulating in the public domain has a basis," he told LRT Radio.

Belarusian opposition information channels released on Monday what they said was unconfirmed information that Pratasevich was in a Minsk hospital in a critical condition. His mother reportedly said that his son was in poor health and had heart problems.

Shortly afterwards, the Minsk regime's channels posted a video of Pratasevich saying that he was in good health and was being treated "correctly and lawfully" in a Minsk pre-trial detention center. He added that he was confessing to having organized mass unrest.

The video is very worrying, too, because the blogger appears to have been was forced to make the statement under duress, Landsbergis told the radio station.

"This is a great concern for us, for his parents and for the international community as a whole. Therefore, I'm joining all those who demand that he and his girlfriend, Sofia Sapega, be immediately released and allowed to return to Vilnius where he lives," he said.
