"Once the quarantine ends, a list of affected countries will be approved by a ministerial decree," he told a news conference. "That will mean that returnees from the affected countries on the list will have to register with the National Public Health Center (NPHC) within 48 hours after their arrival."
Arrivals from these countries will be considered as being at high risk for COVID-19 and will be advised to self-isolate. This will be a recommendation only, but those who will infect other people may be subject to administrative or even criminal sanctions, according to the minister.
Currently, whether arrivals from other Schengen area countries are allowed in Lithuania depends on the rate of infections in a certain country.
Lithuanian citizens can travel to Lithuania from anywhere in the world, but they are required to self-isolate for 14 days if they come from a country with over 15 cases per 100,000 people.
