Lithuania reports 4,051 new coronavirus cases, 19 deaths

Lithuania has registered 4,051 new coronavirus infections and 19 deaths from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the country's statistics office said on Thursday morning.

Sixteen of the fatalities were either not vaccinated or only partially vaccinated.

A total of 14,200 people have been vaccinated over the past 24 hours, including more than 1,100 with their first dose.

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals has edged up to 1,087, including 92 ICU cases.

About 21,500 molecular (PCR) tests for COVID-19 and 4,100 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.

The 14-day infection rate has risen to 1,366.1 per 100,000 people, with the seven-day percentage of positive tests unchanged at 18.6 percent.

Overall, nearly 556,000 people in Lithuania have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. The death toll has reached 7,600.
