People will be also allowed not to wear facemasks outside residential territories when there are no other people around. Also, planned health services and flights will be resumed, and professional athletes will be allowed to resume training in closed premises.

According to the Ministry of Economy and Innovation, all outdoor leisure activities will be allowed as of Thursday, as well as individual sports classes in closed spaces, keeping a safe distance.

The updated regulations on facemasks and planned services will come into force as of Thursday, and flights will be allowed to resume as of May 10.

People will not be required to wear facemasks outside cities, towns and villages when there are no other people within the radius of 20 meters, excluding relatives. Also, masks will not be required in a car when the driver is accompanied by relatives. They will also not be required for high-performance athletes during raining. Children under 6 will also not be required to wear masks.

Up until now, nose and mouth coverings were mandatory for people in all public places, excluding outdoor cafes.

"That will in fact allow people to leave Lithuania without any restrictions. But I would like to underline that the arrival conditions remain unchanged, including the self-isolation and other regulations," Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga said.

Currently, people are only allowed to leave Lithuania and travel to the place of their permanent residence or their place of employment, as well as those employed in the area of international commercial transportation are also allowed to leave.

All activities are allowed if one person gets 10 square meters or space or only one person is served at a time, or the distance of two meters can be ensured among people.

The government also considered allowing small outdoor events for fewer than 10 people but eventually decided against it, government representatives told BNS.

Flight will be allowed to resume as of May 10 but they will need the government's approval upon the foreign minister's proposal. The airspace will remain closed until then and flights now can only be organized having special permission from the transport and foreign ministers.
