From now on, social contacts or the numbers of customers in stores or in the premises of service providers would not be restricted, the Ministry of Health said adding that the government had also lifted the remote work requirement and all restrictions on classroom learning.

However, wearing of facemasks will remain mandatory in public closed spaces, including shopping malls, as well as public transport, indoor common areas or meetings at work. Yet, facemasks will not be necessary when doing sports or providing services that cannot be rendered while wearing a facemask. Masks will also not be required outdoors.

Catering services will be provided without restrictions both outdoors and indoors. Restrictions applied to various entertainment venues have also been lifted.

The number of attendees of various outdoor events will not be restricted from now on. However, all participants or spectators of either indoor or outdoor events organized for viewers without an immunity pass will have to be seated.

In addition to catering establishments, restaurants, cafes and bars, nightclubs and other social venues as well as gambling and betting venues will be allowed to operate but will have to comply with the safe social distance requirement. Moreover, the number of people in saunas and swimming pools will no longer be restricted.

Restrictions on visiting convicted persons in prisons have also been lifted and families and friends will be free to visit patients in healthcare establishments if allowed to do so by these institutions.

The last lockdown in Lithuania was introduced on November 7 and was officially in force until midnight on June 30. It was replaced by the emergency situation status from July.
