From now on, people will only be advised to wear a mask in all public places, except for hospitals and care facilities where they are still necessary for visitors.

Visiting patients is also relaxed from May 1, but the heads of medical establishments will still have power to set more detailed rules.

Also, people will no longer need to have a COVID-19 test done before their hospitalization but could be asked to do so in some cases.

From Sunday, coronavirus testing will be moved from mobile testing sites to policlinics where professional rapid antigen tests will be used, meaning that people who develop symptoms will have to visit their family doctor.

Another change will affect coronavirus patients as they will no longer be obliged to self-isolate. Such people will be considered as having recovered from the coronavirus infection by their doctor.

Travelers arriving in Lithuania will no longer be subject to any requirements related to COVID-19 management as there will be no need to take a pre-travel test, even if the person has not been vaccinated or has not had the virus before. Also, travelers will no longer need to fill in the National Public Health Center's special questionnaire.
