Lithuania is turning left – leader of Democrats For Lithuania

Leader of the party Democrats For Lithuania, Saulius Skvernelis, on Sunday night arrived to the Social Democratic Party’s (LSDP) election watch party.

"All of Lithuania is turning left," said MP Skvernelis, adding that the second round of elections will be crucial.

Social Democratic leader Vilija Blinkevičiūtė in turn said, "I think we will indeed be forming the ruling coalition as the results are really good."

With ballots still being counted, the LSDP leads with 21.62% of votes while Democrats For Lithuania are fourth with 9.41%.

Lithuania holds elections to the Seimas on Sunday. Voter turnout was 52.06%.
