Landsbergis: a new European security architecture is being born

Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis says that a new security architecture is being born after the Baltic and Polish heads of diplomacy signed a declaration on enhancing cooperation in the region.

“We have always shared a very sober attitude towards the threats coming from the East and the assistance needed by our friends, in the Eastern partnership countries. (&) Out of this enhanced cooperation, environment that we are creating, a new security architecture for the European continent is being born. If not here, then where else, the future of European security will be formulised, if not in the Baltics, if not on the eastern flank, if not on Ukraine,” Landsbergis said at a joint press conference with his counterparts in Riga on Tuesday.
