Interior Minister: maximum border security is guaranteed

Lithuania’s Interior Minister Agnė Bilotaitė says troops are no longer constantly on duty at the border because surveillance systems and a physical barrier at the border with Belarus guarantee maximum security, but soldiers may again start patrolling if necessary.

The minister told reporters at a press conference on Friday that illegal migration from Belarus has decreased, whereas surveillance systems cover 94% of the border with Belarus, where a fence was also erected.
