In Warsaw, Nausėda met with Polish president

On Thursday in Warsaw, President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda met with President of Poland Andrzej Duda. The heads of state chaired the second Council of Presidents of Lithuania and Poland, which focused on security and defence issues, as well as bilateral cooperation. The first Council was held in Vilnius in 2021.

At the meeting, Nausėda said that Lithuanian and Polish cooperation in defence and security was a regional security guarantor. He stressed that consistent increase of defence funding by Lithuania and Poland, as well as coordinated work with NATO allies and in other formats significantly contributed to enhancing regional security.
