"It's a gift from Huawei and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce," the Chinese Embassy in Vilnius told BNS.
The shipment is being transported free of charge by a plane of KlasJet, a charter airline which is part of Avia Solutions Group, owned by Lithuanian businessman Gedminas Ziemelis.
"The plane just took off. 240 boxes containing 120,000 pairs of medical gloves and 10 boxes with 20,000 medical masks were loaded. The arrival is scheduled for 5 a. m.," Vilma Vaitiekunaite, spokeswoman for Avia Solutions Group, told BNS.
The needs for medical protection means has increased at medical establishments in Lithuania due to the spread of the coronavirus.
