The ministry wants to increase the number of vaccination sites and improve, as much as possible, access to vaccine shots for those still undecided about the jab.

“Some of the methods planned may look extreme but we believe they will be effective, for instance tents on the beaches of Palanga, Sventoji. We want those vaccines to be available at the doorstep of people’s homes so that they would only need to stretch their hand and receive a vaccine shot,” the news portal quoted Justina Aleksaite, an aide to the health minister, as saying.

Some 42.6 percent of the Lithuanian population have already received at least one doze of a coronavirus vaccine.
