The suspects include the SFVS's director Mantas Staskevicius who has been detained.

According to the SIS, the SFVS's representatives "allegedly acting with other persons, demanded bribes from business entities".

"Mantas Staskevicius, the SFVS director, and the SFVS's other current and former employees are suspected of various corruption offenses," the SIS said.

In a reply to BNS, the SIS said the suspects could have made decisions in favor of business entities in return for bribes.

Searches are being carried out at the suspects' homes, workplaces and other places relevant to the investigation since Sunday to collect evidence for the investigation, as well as other necessary investigative actions are being taken.

Staskevicius and three other persons were detained on Sunday.
