The news agency ELTA has learned from the STT that the allegations were made on 13 May and an investigation is ongoing, but more information cannot provide at the time.

Last week, Ašoklienė stepped down as the chief epidemiologist. Minister of Health Arūnas Dulkys said at the time that she left the job due to personal reasons.

According to Tomas Bagdonas, the health minister’s spokesman, after clarifying with prosecutors and the STT it was determined that the allegations were not directly related to the former chief epidemiologist’s duties. However, more details cannot be revealed due to the ongoing pre-trial investigation.
