Foreign vice-ministers appointed

Inga Cerniuk, until recently deputy director at Lithuania's centralized public property manager Turto Bankas, has been given the job of the Foreign Ministry's chancellor. She has in the past served as the chancellor of the Transport Ministry and of the Energy Ministry.

Adomenas served as a member of the parliament between 2008 and 2020. He ran for an MP seat in a single-member constituency in the October election, but lost.

As an MP, Adomenas focused on education, culture and foreign policy and "paid great attention to the development of freedom and democracy in Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine and East Asia", according to the Foreign Ministry's press release.

Adomenas was a member of the Homeland Union–Lithuanian Christian Democrats, the biggest party in the new parliament, between 2000 and 2018, but was stripped of party membership in June 2018 for improper ties with MG Baltic, one of the country's largest business groups.

Pranckevicius has headed the Representation of the European Commission in Vilnius for the last four years. His past career includes positions as advisor to former Lithuanian President Valdas Adamkus and diplomatic adviser to two presidents of the European Parliament, Jerzy Buzek and Martin Schulz.

Meilunas has served as Lithuania's ambassador to Poland, Japan and Ireland, as well as deputy foreign minister.

Landsbergis has appointed Algimantas Rimkunas as head of his office and Vytaute Smaizyte as his spokeswoman.
