Family Movement held rally in Vilnius on Saturday

The Lithuanian Family Movement (Lietuvos šeimų sąjūdis) held a rally in Vilnius on Saturday, 22 October, “to defend the Constitution of Lithuania”.

Vilnius City Municipality had issued a permit for a demonstration of up to 15,000 people, but just up to a thousand took part.
Participants of the rally interviewed by the news agency ELTA said they arrived from northwest Lithuania to protest against the Government which is not doing enough to help people amid high food and energy prices, especially in rural areas, where salaries are lower than in Vilnius and unemployment is high.
