The advisory council of independent experts on Wednesday refined the existing list of vaccination priorities and its recommendations on the process of vaccination, the government said in a press release.

The council also recommended starting giving vaccine shots to people with autoimmune and/or oncological diseases who receive chemotherapy, immunosuppressive, immunomodulatory treatment, radiotherapy, also to people with congenital or acquired immunodeficiency.

In addition, the experts proposed to reach the capacity of at least 7,000 vaccine shots per day in the near time.

Also, they advised to the Center of Registers to simplify the registration of vaccination and testing as soon as possible and to create a registration system for vaccination.

Approximately 31,500 people have already received COVID-19 vaccine shots in Lithuania, according to the data from Statistics Lithuania. The priority vaccination groups include medics, highest-risk patients, residents and staff of nursing and care homes, and volunteers.
