Estonian PM: Nordic-Baltic region is at the forefront of helping Ukraine

In a meeting on Tuesday with her Swedish counterpart Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of Estonia Kaja Kallas discussed Sweden’s presidency of the Council of the European Union, support for Ukraine, defence and security issues and regional and bilateral cooperation, stated the Office of the Government.

Estonia and Sweden, like the Nordic-Baltic region as a whole, have been at the forefront of assisting Ukraine over the last 12 months. “We are working together to ensure that EU and transatlantic assistance for Ukraine continues,” Prime Minister Kallas said. “Ukraine’s victory in this war is of existential importance to Europe and indeed to the entire world.”
