“We talked about potential future expansion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. Of course, we need to draft plans for that. We are talking about a division, its creation on the basis of the existing Land Force and other capabilities. But we still need to prepare for that, to estimate how much this would cost, what additional capabilities we could develop, what our allies could compensate while this long-term project would be realised. Let me stress that it would be a long-term project for the decade,” Anušauskas told reporters after Monday’s meeting of the State Defence Council at the Presidential Palace.
