Conservative leader does not think party’s popularity was affected by child sexual abuse scandal

Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, leader of the Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD), says public opinion polls do not indicate that the child sexual abuse scandal affected the party’s popularity.

Law enforcement suspects former MP Kristijonas Bartoševičius of sexual abuse of minors. He was elected to parliament with the TS-LKD in 2020 but resigned this January citing personal reasons, although allegations against him were made soon after.
