Another competition will be held to elect director general of public broadcaster LRT

On 21 March, election of the new director general of Lithuania’s public broadcaster LRT took place but none of the six candidates received the majority of votes. Consequently, another competition for the position will be held.

“Discussions and presentation of the candidates’ programmes were held today. The council voted after discussions and meetings with candidates. Opinions were exchanged and today the situation is such that none of the candidates garnered the needed number of votes,” Eugenijus Valatka, chair of the LRT Council said on Tuesday.
