"Out of 15,000, we have seven officers diagnosed with the COVID-19 infection," the minister told the Ziniu Radijas news radio on Thursday.

She underlined, however, that the officers contracted the virus from their family members, not during their time of service.

The interior system has plenty of personal protection equipment and there's no lack of it for officers, Tamasuniene said.

A total of 1,375 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Lithuania so far.
