"Given that students chose their school-leaving exams back in 2019, (...) they will be able to opt out by May 19 if they don't need them for their future studies or future career," said Asta Ranonyte, the agency's acting deputy director.

Exams at schools is scheduled to begin on June 22 and end on July 21.

The first round of admission to universities and other higher education institutions will last until August 18, with the second one likely to end on September 4. It is proposed that the next academic year should begin in another two weeks.
