9.9 percent of all respondents said they felt fully informed and prepared. 35.8 percent feel somewhat informed and prepared. These are mainly residents of Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipeda, Siauliai and Panevezys.
At the same time, 38.5 said they did not feel ready because they lacked money or information, while 15.3 percent said they were not ready because they did not see the need. Most of them live in Lithuania's smaller towns and villages.
In late February, Russia invaded Ukraine and triggered a war.
Lithuanian officials say there's no real military threat to Lithuania so far, but stress the importance of being prepared for all possible threats, including a possible accident at the Astravyets nuclear power plant in Belarus.
The representative survey was conducted by the Vilmorus public opinion and market research center on March 10-19 with live and telephone interviews.
A total of 1,005 adults in 25 cities and 40 villages were interviewed. The maximum error is 3.1 percent.
