People have been receiving this type of compensation from April.

Moreover, under the Ministry of Social Security and Labor proposal, Ukrainians who declare their residence in the housing provided on a loan basis and pay for its upkeep will be eligible for heating, hot and cold water compensation.

As EU institutions decided in October to automatically extend temporary protection for Ukrainians for two six-month periods, such protection is granted to Ukrainian war refugees in Lithuania from March 4, 2022 until March 4, 2024.

Currently, some 5,000 natural and legal persons who have accommodated almost 14,000 Ukrainians, are receiving state compensation, costing the state around 1.1 million euros per month.
