Ula Marija Tornau has won the Lithuanian Culture Ministry's competition for the post of cultural attaché to the United Kingdom.

She was selected from four applicants for the job, the ministry said on Tuesday.

Tornau received a doctorate in art criticism from Vilnius Art Academy in 2016. She has worked at the Contemporary Art Centre in the Lithuanian capital since 2007.

She will begin her three-year term as attaché after obtaining security clearance and approval from the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.
