In Lithuania more than 90% people living with HIV are aware of their HIV status. By this indicator, according to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, Lithuania is among the most advanced in Europe. According to the latest data from the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, the average for this indicator in Europe is 80%. According to UNAIDS, the global average is 75%, i.e. a quarter of the people with HIV do not know that they are infected with the human immunodeficiency virus, a press release from the Centre for Communicable Diseases and AIDS states.
