Volume of retail trade down by 3% in October

In October 2022, the seasonally adjusted volume of retail trade decreased by 1.8% in the euro area and by 1.7% in the EU, compared with September 2022, according to estimates from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.

In September 2022, the retail trade volume increased by 0.8% in both the euro area and the EU.
In October 2022 compared with October 2021, the calendar adjusted retail sales index decreased by 2.7% in the euro area and by 2.4% in the EU.
