A group of Lithuanian haulers has recently visited Poland and collected information on possibilities to move their transport businesses to this country. Representatives of the transport sector say they are forced to do so by plans in Lithuania to raise the minimum monthly pay coefficient for long-haul drivers from 1.3 to 2.

Lithuanian haulers are also forced to set their eyes on Poland due to uncertain prospects, taking into account the Mobility Package which, among other things, includes a provision that trucks need to return to their country of registration once a month.

Vytautas Turekas, head of Poland's Savesta Consulting, a company consulting on business establishment and related services, estimates that the number of trucks registered by Lithuanian haulers in Poland should jump at least three times this year, compared to 2018.
