Skaistė: decisions on tax proposals will not be easy

Finance Minister Gintarė Skaistė says that decisions related to the package of tax proposals presented Tuesday will not be easy to take as certain group of people would not see their situation as improving. The impact of the package on public finance in 2026 is estimated to total EUR 447 million, but the final amount will depend on the response from the public and decisions at the Seimas, she noted.

The draft laws have been opened for comments from the public this week, Skaistė said.
“(&) Three weeks to go for all to voice their position. We will try to take constructive proposals into account,” the minister told a press conference held at the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.
