Seimas committee in favour of indefinite extension of reduced rate VAT for catering, art and sports

On Wednesday, the Seimas Committee on Budget and Finance approved a proposal that the reduced rate value added tax (VAT) of 9% would be extended indefinitely for catering services, art and cultural establishments, art and culture events, as well as sports events and concerts.

Nine members of the Committee voted for the proposal only with Conservative MP Matas Maldeikis abstaining.
