Average hourly labor costs in enterprises with 10 or more employees, excluding agriculture and public administration, amounted to 9 euros in 2018, up 10.4 percent from 8.1 euros in 2017.
Last year, lower hourly costs were only recorded in Romania, at 6.9 euros, and in Bulgaria, at 5.4 euros. Hourly labor costs in Latvia stood at 9.3 euros, and those in Estonia, at 12.4 euros.
In Lithuania, hourly labor costs averaged 8.8 euros in industry and construction and 9.5 euros in services.
The highest hourly labor costs last year were registered in Denmark, at 43.5 euros, Luxembourg, at 40.6 euros, and Belgium, at 39.7 euros.
