"Today, we have signed a contract, ordering 1 million masks-respirators for Lithuanian medics," Health Minister Aurelijus Veryga posted onb Facebook on Friday.

In his words, the company will produce such an amount of respirators over a couple of months, having found solutions on how to adapt these masks in a short period of time.

"Their efficacy is high and can hardly be exceeded by the majority of existing respirators on the market. It will allow protecting our medics," the minister said.

Sigitas Zvirblis, CEO of Intersurgical, told BNS last week orders for the company's certain products had gone up by "times" due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Intersurgical exports around 99 percent of its products but Zvirblis said the company is capable of satisfying the needs of Lithuanian patients and medics.
