EcoVadis assesses actions and results of business organisations in the four sustainability themes: environment, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The assessment results published on a special platform are used by thousands of companies when monitoring and promoting their supply chain sustainability.

“Our customers – both large international organisations and an ever-growing number of Lithuanian B2B and private customers have not only started paying attention to the origin of the energy they consume, but they also have started carefully assessing various business aspects of the energy supplier they choose. They expect real actions when contributing to climate change mitigation, respectful and equal treatment of employees, complete transparency, etc. The assessment of EcoVadis showcases that we are on the right path of constant improvement and lists us among the organisations meeting the highest requirements,” said Valentas Neviera, Head of Group Sustainability at Ignitis Group.

The assessment method used by EcoVadis relies on various international standards for responsible business conduct such as Global Reporting Initiative, UN Global Compact, etc.

In 2021 Ignitis was listed among the top 8% of the companies assessed by the platform. The company getting ISO certified, disclosure of sustainability data of the entire Ignitis Group which complies with international guidelines, a wide range of benefits for employees, helping customers consume energy more efficiently, etc., all have led to even better assessment results this year.
