“I would not refer to this as a probe, but rather an analysis could may be meaningful. The Swedish Government has performed a similar analysis. We had a conversation with the head of the Bank of Lithuania – they are constantly monitoring the prices as they are responsible for price stability. They promised to take an additional look specifically at food price components so we could look into how objectively the prices grow and whether certain additional supervision or monitoring by the Competition Council is necessary,” Skaistė told Lietuvos ryto TV last week.
