Decline in Estonia’s retail trade turnover continued in January

According to Statistics Estonia, in January, the turnover of retail trade enterprises was EUR 800 million. Compared with January 2022, turnover decreased by 7% at constant prices.

Johanna Linda Pihlak, analyst at Statistics Estonia, said that, in January, turnover decreased in enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel as well as in grocery stores and stores selling manufactured goods. “Year on year, the biggest decline (9%) occurred in the turnover of enterprises engaged in the retail sale of automotive fuel. Turnover fell by 7% in stores selling manufactured goods and by 4% in grocery stores,” added Pihlak.
