Deputy economy minister announces his resignation

Deputy Minister of the Economy and Innovation Vincas Jurgutis announced his resignation on Wednesday evening via Facebook not long after his spouse was hired by Lithuanian Railways (LTG).

His wife Agnė Belickaitė recently became director for corporate affairs at LTG thus drawing much criticism over suspected nepotism due to her ties to the Freedom Party.
Jurgutis stated in a post on Facebook that accusations of nepotism were unfounded but some people are inclined to believe in conspiracy theories and now demand for “blood and responsibility”.
