Howitzers roar on the Baltic coast

Two-week international military exercise event Fire Thunder 2015 kicked off in Lithuania on 13 April, involving 450 troops from four NATO countries: the United States, Poland, Lithuania and Portugal.

The exercise takes place simultaneously in two training grounds. Lithuanian and US artillery units are perfecting their coast guarding and sea missions skills in General Povilas Plechavičius Polygon, while mine throwing units from all the four nations are training in General Silverstras Žukauskas Polygon in Pabradė.
