Lithuania’s Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis on Monday attended the EU’s Foreign Affairs Council in Luxembourg, the ministry reports.

The possible deployment of more US troops to Poland will serve the security interests of the entire region, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said on Wednesday.

Lithuania's Chief of Defense Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas will pay a visit to Poland on Thursday where he is scheduled to meet with the command of the Polish armed forces and discuss joint training and the protection of the Suwalki Corridor.

Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaitė met with members of the United States Congress delegation on Wednesday, discussing the security situation.

Processes proceeding far from Lithuania and right by its borders lead to the conclusion that challenges to national security have not disappeared. Today it is hard to predict how things will proceed thus national defence is one of the priorities of national security policy.
